    vl - 114kw
    vn - 121kw

i've owned a s1 vn and 3 vls now and the rb30 is a way better motor imo, i found the vn to be too harsh for my liking. just my opinion though. although you can get some decent power figures out of a na 3.8 if you have the cash and can put up with it

rb30 less power by not much but its the torque the vn motor produce that give it the advantage, cosin did a v6 ina vk three years ago and it went hard as, was able to keep up with and beta many v8 vs

the VN is less popular than the VL as a used car and always has been
apparently some of the V6 vibration is from the engine mounting design which was fixed on the next model
early VN s can be identified by the very long top radiator hose and are best avoided

i would say the vl goes faster even though it has less power. all the vn-vs "stock ones" i have beaten so i would keep the vl motor if ut deciding between vn and vl.

stock vn will beat a stock vl, any day of the week but the vl motors have a lot more potential when it comes to getting power from them, this is because its and RB series motor, or skyline motor and parts are cheap nad easy to find for them.
