re fuel noises from the tank, these are normal and more noticable as the tank empties, in fact lots of noise can be a warning that the tank is almost empty.
I found that its important to have the filter bag of the internal pump sitting directly on top of the swirlpot, otherwise more fuel noises all the time will result and the car will run out of petrol sooner
this isnt easy as I wasnt able to see the swirl pot or figure out where it was when removing my internal pump
I will soom replace my fuel tank due to a leak and hope to be able to see and photograph the swirlpot in there
the lower fuel pipe connection goes to the swirlpot and its not a bad idea to push a wire thru it in case of any much caught up in there
re top speed, the VL 6 cyl non turbo was reported as good for 120 mph in both 3rd and 4th when new, and the V8 was said to be no faster
the old RB30 is still repected by most mechanics and is used for some classes of drag racing
