why does my fuel tank bubble? it gets louder as the level gets lower and i think my fuel consumption has gone up.

possibly gets louder as fuel gets lower because it is echoing in the empty tank

yes after the injectors are primed it sounds like blowing through a straw in a can of drink
I recently joined the 200km/h+ club in my vl can anyone tell me how to accurately measure my speed after 200? as that is as high as the speedo goes and the needle was bouncing down the bottom of th dial. and i still don't know what the bubbles are!
re fuel noises from the tank, these are normal and more noticable as the tank empties, in fact lots of noise can be a warning that the tank is almost empty.
I found that its important to have the filter bag of the internal pump sitting directly on top of the swirlpot, otherwise more fuel noises all the time will result and the car will run out of petrol sooner
this isnt easy as I wasnt able to see the swirl pot or figure out where it was when removing my internal pump
I will soom replace my fuel tank due to a leak and hope to be able to see and photograph the swirlpot in there
the lower fuel pipe connection goes to the swirlpot and its not a bad idea to push a wire thru it in case of any much caught up in there
re top speed, the VL 6 cyl non turbo was reported as good for 120 mph in both 3rd and 4th when new, and the V8 was said to be no faster
the old RB30 is still repected by most mechanics and is used for some classes of drag racing
THANKS! for the info on the tank, and by my calculations 120m/h is just under 200km/h=125m/h so that's good, isn't it?
yeah thats good and i wouldnt be suprised if it went more than that with the manual box. were you bouncing all over the place at 200? i got to 130 in mine and it was al over the shop but that was on a really shotty road. now i have lowered it and put better strut covers on, cant wait to see how it handles when i get it back on the road
my web sitestuff on the XF throttle body conversion, calais interior and lots of other junk!
the road was alright surprisingly it didn't bounce around too much not like my mates VS that was a boat at around 190. and now you mentioned it CONVERSION worth it or not? I have a 5sp donor car!
OF COURSE! it was a race track/private property i must have been over excited about my achievement and just forgot to mention that thanks! I don,t condon stupid behaviour in public

I hit 180kmph in my dead stock auto rb30 the other week and it was still climbing. Handled fine wasnt shaking or bouncing around. Im not into high speed's i just had a brain snap and wanted to put my foot down.
