    Default VL Keys

Does anybody know if you can still get the original VL Keys with the black plastic pieces?

They are all obsolute from Holden in Australia & in New Zealand. If you happen to find one on E-bay they are worth big bucks!!! Not sure if any locksmith might has one sitting around somewhere.

This might help you... The GM no 920 279 59
Why not get Solex locks as I can get you 3 door locks and 4 keys for $90. Or an Aftermarket Ignition barrell and key for $40.00.

i have a black plastic key, it is not genuine but looks the part there is a logo on it of a little car and above that the word NICE. it also has a number at the top of the key just below the plastic,45. I'm sure any good locksmith would know the brand and it's availabilty but I think solex is the way too go, stops people trying thier commo keys or screwdrivers in your locks,

Solex isn't as secure as I'd like. Very soon I won't have door locks at all, so its just a matter of the ignition barrel and boot lock.

Thanks Jats I'll try a locksmith later today.

Its a common miss conception that people actually use their brains before they speak.

I have my VLs original keys with the black plastic and am astonished that theres a 3 letter number code stamped on the black plastic, surely this isnt a key cutting code that would allow a locksmith to cut a key from that number is it?
from what I can see, eventually both the keys and locks wear so that any VL key seems to work in any VL lock, maybe a reason they are so often stolen
