hey
wat does a stage 2 shift kit do?
where can u get it?
how much is it?
how does it benefit your car?
thanks everyone
......for a vl
gives the trans a very firm shift, usually resulting in chirpies under full throttle, talk to a trans place, main benefits are down the drags as theres no lapse in power transfer to the tyres unlike a standard slushbox... its harder on tailshafts, uni joints and diffs though... on the street theres no real benefit unless you like the kick in the pants it gives you through the gears... ive had all my trans's like that, i would never have a stock one again..
my mate vp clubby chirps under half throttle and if you get under it around a corner it spin 1st 2nd and 3rd and grip on and takes off it farken wicked dude i would have too say do it you want regreet it at all. i have a stage two stift kit and corvet servos going into my stato after the new year cant wait sould be lots of fun the drive after that is your VL and rb 30e or are rb30et??
i honestly have no idea
its stock so im guessing its jus rb30 lol
whats the "dett" and "e' and all that mean?
where can u buy stage 2 shift kts?
e= injection
et= injection turbo
det= double over head cam injection turbo
dett= double over head cam injection twin turbo
thats what it means and if the one your talking about is just a rb30 i would bother about the shift kit just change it to a manual and forget the auto it would cost you to much to put a shift kit i one of those not turbo vls cost i was quite to do my auto was about $2500 and to change to an manual cost about $700 to buy conversion kit from the wreckers add a couple hundred more for a mechanic to put it in you will feel a difference![]()
so that means i helped my mate build an RB30DE... twin cam headed rb30 non turbo
im shift kit'n my 5ltr
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
I bought a reco'd tranny with a stage two kit and put a b&m proratchet on for 1500
Yeh i wouldnt bother with a shift kit... Converting to a manual is cheaper and as a bonus you get a clutchCant wait until I get my green P's so i can convert my pos auto to manual.
There is no off the shelf shift kit for the Jatco 4 speeds in the VL and to make the shift feel better it does not take much but there are billet servos. I do have some CNC full manual reverse patten valve bodies which i think are the only ones in the world but would suit a Quarter mile duty. a 2800 stall with a stock or high flow turbo is a great upgrade also
Yeah mate if it's just a N/A, then Manual for sure.![]()
Of course if it's an 8 or Turbo, then it's different. Actually I would still have a Manual.![]()
speak to Keas transmissions in thomastown. he specialises in VL jatco's or if you're on the peninsula speak to street and strip trans' in carrum downs, they use keas internals in their trans'
Its a common miss conception that people actually use their brains before they speak.
i recently got my auto rebuilt 3000 stally stage 2 shift kit and ### it goes hard
