I got a 1987 VL. Full Pacemaker 2 1/2 Exaust with a cold air intake. I am having problems after driving the car awile. I stop the car shut it off and then it wont start again. I can push start it no worries. If I let it sit for a few hours it will start right back up... I talked to he previous owner and he couldent tell me anything. I live in Alice Springs and I know the hot weather has an efect on things like starters and heat sinks. I was wondering if my problem could be with the starter or coil mabye. Mabye the heat sink is bad... Its not even summer yet I and I fear the prblem will get worse and worse until it wont start at all... ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I have ahd the car for 2 weeks now never had ONE PROBLEM until two days ago. Is when it started doing this. Its like the car is over heating but its not. The coolant is good and the radiator is new. the hoses arent cracked. I don't drive like a hoon 24/7.![]()
I would say the starter motor is getting very tired. Might be time to get it checked over or replaced.
the solenoid on the starter motor is probably rooted.
