damn the rb30 standard rods are very good! they have been known to withstand over 500hp no worries at all.......

lol. sorry to hear that mate but i saw the funny side...anyway it is pretty uncommon i think, i've only ever seen one other do it, just found a pic of it on the net once.

a guy i know had a turbo motor that had done about 400,000 clicks and he'd been trying to blow it up cos he had a new engine to put in. and in the end he couldn't kill it before the new one went in, they are bloody tough buggers

Sorry to here that Did you contact the person you purchased it from? What did they say?

Really sorry to here that someone would sell you a car like that; but then again they might not have known it was crook.

Anyway keep ya chin up if ya can If the body of the car is nice then you should be able to get a new motor (second hand) for a couple of hundred bucks.

now there is a dude called hozy (mat) on here, he had the same thing happen a big hole was blown in the blocks side from a rod or something, i think i read it was linked to his gear box stuffing up with a torque convertor or something, cant rember ill find it out

Phonecall from transmission place, My gearbox locked which caused my last motor to seize an throw a rod, Thank god it didn't lock with this motor!!!!!!!!!

this could possibly have done it to yours, just a hunch
