VK Calais Digital Dash into VL

cheers mate, he want's a digital dash in his VL. Any ideas as to what he can put in?

its hard enough tryin 2 put one in a stock vk so im not sure how he would go with the vl

vb to vk had the same shape crash pad vl is a different shape all together and also have change the plugs in the back of the dash to and just put the two together vk and vl dashes and you will see what i mean just put a vl berlina dash in it our just buy an vk calais and put the 6litre in it fark ya

He could probably buy an aftermarket digital dash, for alot of dollars, like what the race drivers use. That'd be sweet, if your into that kinda thing.

Dick smith and Tandy have electronic tacho and speedo kits but you have to build them yourself and adapt them to the car also. The VK dash all works from sensors mainly where the vl doesn't have these sensors nor does the rb30 have any provisions for these sensors. its a huge job IMHO.

The VL Calais has the speedo/tacho, plus fuel, temp, oil pressure and volts with the digital clock in the middle - just saw one on ebay for $35 from memory. Fits straight in to the standard VL with the exception of the oil pressure guage - need to change the sender unit

series 1 doesnt have low fuel but series 2 does, to pick them look at background. blue squares series1 grey dots series 2

Don't need to change the sender unit I didn't think, you just have to bridge a couple of wires on the dash itself.

the digital dash had a reputation of breaking doen often, requiring complete replacement, very expensive, which I think is why they stopped using it
