    Smile Help With Tacho's

    Hey i got and old smiths tacho and i wanted to hook it up to my vl i was wondering if anyone could tell me how you actually hook up a tacho

    Signal wire to coil?

    Only has 1 wire?

    Red is 12v
    Black is neg

    It might be green or brown for signal - any colour that isnt on this list maybe.

    White is usally lights.

    The signal wire is a pink wire on its own, just above the alternator. It has a white plug on the end which is a rectangle shape
