    Question no low/high beam

After driving for a good hour with my low beams I reached home let the vehicle rest for an hour. Was planning on going out for dinner, start the engine, flick the light stalk twice to get low beam....NOTHING. The park lights work correctly (1 flick) but the low beams don't. Can pull back and hold the stalk for high beam, if I let go I get nothing - no light.

Checked the proper fuses all are fine. I've never liked the headlight stalks in the VL's, seem fragile. Could it be the faulty switch mechanism in the stalk requiring a new one? Like to hear anyones thoughts. Taking the car in for its pink slip Friday.

Also anyone know where I can pick up a working wiper switch for a VL, rung round wreckers don't have em. Or wanna charge me $50 to get one in.

I know its a long shot but check the actual headlights.. I doubt it but its worth a shot.

I paid 50 for my indicator stalk.. And yep easy to install, take off the boss kit and steering wheel as one piece, undo a few screws and disconnect the loom, slide it out, push the new one back in connect it up, few more screws and steering wheel back on straight.

As for the wiper switch, try a different wreckers? Should only be 10 bucks at the max for a second hand one and they should be in abundance..Try CWreck if you have no luck anywhere else.

Number will be in the phone book.

    hey dude,
You might be able to save yourself the hassel, replace the relay switch in the fuse box, had the same probs and thats all it ended up being

Yep, that's my thoughts - the headlight power relay. There are 2 of them - a 4 pin one for power, and the 5 pin one to select lo/hi.
It will be the 4 pin one for sure, and you can probably test it with one of the other 4 pin relays in the box to make sure.

Don't go & buy a standard replacement - the bosch ones in the VL have a different pin out to the aftermarket ones, so you need to get a black plastic 4 pin bosch one - they are in all VH-VS commodores so just find a wreck to grab one from!
