Changing Lifters

Hi Guys,

My lifters are noisy, we tried changing them, now my car sounds like it is knocking on a door, I have been told it is the cam, I have been told it may be the lifters not going up and down smoothly therefore the cam is hitting the block. I am not a real technical person, so stupid talk would be very much appreciated. I have bought a new cam, lifters and pushrods and we are gonna try again, any tips or hints?

remove the valley cover and rocker cover's
lossen rocker arm turn sideways and remove pushrod's and lifter's
inspect the lifter base for buring and cam shaft for wear
if you can physicly move the cam shaft replace bearing and end flote
if you plan to remove the cam get a gregory's book for timing chain placement

Cheers! Thanks mate, my brother and my other mate have replaced the cam, the old cam was worn, I also need to get a new manifold, my brother reckons my old one is cracked, any suggestions on whee i can get a new one cheap would help, cheers!
