    Default disc rear end

EDIT: i am most likly going to get window tint this week so this will happen in a few weeks, but tips and info will be much apretiated still

either this weekend or next i might go and pick up a disc rear end from a wreakers,
now im wanting to know is there anything else i should do while i have it all off and out?
any cirtain things i should change or alter like bushes or control arms?
should i recondition the caliper?(also how much are the reconditioning kits and from where), all new seals or anything specific? and i will do a oil change while i have it out to.

as for the the master cylander i will change when i do the vt front conversion later.

also while on the topic does the diff housing gather much heat as im thinking about painting it matt black while its out and give it a good cleaning.

    sorry for a few questions
    cheers Sean

well, mate i think you will have to change the master cylinder at the same time as the change to discs, or i've heard that it'll lock them up using a drum brake one. don't quote me though

Nah I doubt that one - if its true then fair enough.

Make sure you get the handbrake cable.

And let me know how much you pay for it, because I'm thinking about selling my 25 spline disc to disc with new rotors and brake pads soon.

Caliper kits are around 15 dollars from memory.

put new wheel bearings in it. put all new bushes in too. you can reconditioned lower arms from nolathane. new uni joints and while the tailshaft is down do the centre bearing as well. do the front seal on the diff. and a new hat gasket. get new rotors (discs) or have yours machined. and get the kit for the calipers.

Sean, PM me when your ready to buy, I've got mine for sale now, I purchased a 28 spline LSD disc to disc today.

So I've got a 25 spline disc to disc sitting here with new rotors and brake pads if your keen, all you will need is a handbrake cable. It's going in the FS section aswell- But I'll give you first dibs. I'm not entirely sure on a price yet, they generally go for 200 second hand without the new pads and rotors.

That's if your willing to pay freight of course.

cheers for all the info there Bangers, when i get around to getting a rear end ill be looking in doing majority of the stuff you reckomended. defently be recondoning the calipers and a pair of nice new pair of slotted disc hopefuly

Bax cheers for the offer for the rear end but i might pass on it, dont want to hold you back by a few weeks to a month as by the time postage is added in to the equasion i would have paided more then what it would cost me to go to the local wreakers and get the rear end.
    cheers for the offer anyways

Can you still let me know what the wreckers want for it so I can gauge my price?

I don't think mine will be here for a couple of weeks, hopefully by then my mechanic is back aswell. But we'll see how we go.

    Thanks mate.
