As title says just wanna know what different ratios are available in the borg warner diffs whats most common? whats least common? are the centers and axles worth anything to sell? if anyone is chasin one i have a few sittin here.
the 6's were 3.45 and the v8's were 3.08... not sure on prices for centers but i used to pick up axels from wreckers for 40-50$$

My VL has 3.9's and it has seen over 180kph down the straight at wakefield park, and it is auto. But i guess being turbo helps too..lol
It was in third gear, I didnt touch overdrive at all. Had plenty more left in it, but the corner was approaching very quickly by that stage.
yeah same rb26dett... at 200kph it was only at 5000 rpm... still had overdrive to go and 1000rpm...
**not on pulic roads**

yes i can also state that my vl has had its dial around at the 200 mark which either show that the tops speed is wrong or the dash is out of wak, i reckon it would be the top speed judgement

Top Speed In Gears
3.0 litre five speed manual transmission:
1st: 62 km/h
2nd: 107 km/h
3rd: 157 km/h
4th: 186 km/h
5th: 187 km/h
0-100 km/h: 9.2 seconds
Standing Quarter Mile (400 metres): 16.7 seconds
Does anyone know why 5th gear is only 1km/h more than 4th? It is the same with the auto:
Commodore Executive 3.0 litre four speed automatic transmission:
1st: 81 km/h
2nd: 136 km/h
3rd: 181 km/h
4th: 185 km/h
0-100 km/h: 11.1 seconds
Standing Quarter Mile (400 metres): 17.8 seconds
VL CT's have a top speed of 218km/h stock apparently. Much higher than the n/a Rb30
I was curious to see what i'd get out of 3.9's
thats on paper vn2nv...dosnt mean thats what they all do...

hmmmm
i drove up here(Qld) from victoria with my 2 mates
one mates is a vl sl and the other was a vx commie
Mine 1986 vl Berlina(CAI with K&N Panel Filter, Extractors,Sports Zorst, Timing 20° approx. we did a speed test(stupid i know) in the middle of nowhere. mine was pinned at 200 on the dash with RPM still going up slowly showing that i was doing just over 200kms, and sitting nicely with the suspension:P
My mates SL was not going faster than about 188 - 190kms and the Vx well who cares Huh(vl drags it and wins ha)
So im tipping for some reason with the various models they have got speed limiters in some and not others.
Look powermode is meant to just stay in 3rd Gear(So revs are up for hills towing Etc). Powermode Off is just like an electronic 4th gear(overdrive) to get the revs down when cruising. We already knew that hey?
cheers fellas
my vl didnt seem to have a limiter it got to 7200 and konked out till i lifted my foot from the fire wallat which point it fired up again...
