get a 5-speed VN/VP.. even a 5-speed VL. both will be more than quick enough for what you need from a first car. You'd be able to get a better VL for 3 grand than a VN though i'd say. good luck

    Default Holden VL

Hey, ive got the same problem :P turning 18 in August and DEFINETLY looking for a VL. Either being VL-Turbo in auto, or a straight VL in Manual as i can drive manual just fine and i dont mind have a auto if its Turbo.

What would be the best recomondation and what prices would i be looking at?
Haha, another question, is a VLT even legal for a Victorian P Plater?

    Cheers bro
(Nick go the VL and we cruise haha)

personally i wouldn't touch VN-VS. no offence to anyone who has one but i think they are ugly crap IMO. Get a nice VL Berlina, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah once you learn how to drive a manual, get a 5 Speed VL.

After driving one, you wont go near a Auto. (Unless for obvious reasons )

RB26DETT: My mate bought a VS for $2000, but it blew up a couple of days after he had it and he had to replace the gearbox. It's good now, but you can tell he's spent alot of money on it.

mate after owning both a vn & a vl n/a i would go the vl purely because i think there a better car no offence to vn owners! but with all sincerity my stock n/a vl wouldnt touch the stock vn v6 i had on take off! i find the v6 motors are very torquey motors and its only when the vl opens up that it might have the upper maybe...
