    Default not running

wondering if anyone could shead some light on a problem.
it will fire sometimes but as soon as you put your foot on the gas it dies i have replaced the fuel pump thinking it was the problem turns out its not, dissconnected the air flow meter and reconnected it, i have aslo replaced the igniter on the side of the dizzy with no success. It does start and run sometimes. I am thinking it has spat the dizzy but wondering if anyone had any other ideas

I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator. Clamp off the return line back to your tank and try starting it. To see if you are getting fuel to your cylinders take the coil lead off, turn it over for a bit then take a plug out to see if it is wet.

take off your dizzy cap and have a look at the inside of the dizzy if theres any red or orange dust your bearings gone and the sensor in there is probably covered in dust and it is an optical sensor and wont read through the dust if it goes after cleaning it get it repaired or get a new one as the dust will keep coming out .might not be your problem but worth a look

most common is crank angle sensor (as above)in side dizzy! there are two Fuel pumps one inside, one outside tank. air flow meter dissconect and reconnect????. check the other threads on this forum and learn how to use the cars diagnostic system (behind front kick panel passenger side) it will narrow your problem down. test your afm, cas, with a multimeter. there are lots of how to guides on this forum for the vl and most are very helpful do it once knowledge for life.

if removing the airflow meter plug makes no difference< i would suspect its at fault
I had a VL with a faulty one, it would idle but not rev any faster

Check if car has spark when it stalls take a No1 lead of and put screwdriver inside and have someone crank engine while you hold it near metal engine bracket leaving small gap. If you dont see a spark 9 out of 10 times will be crankangle sensor. if its not this then check your earth straps first and them check computer wiring is pluged in properly and conection pins are making contact.

You mean the ignition module. The VL doesn't have a CAS, it's got a dizzy.

It has a CAS, it's part of the distributor unit, but can be replaced separately.
