Default If I change my pistons

Do I need to buy new conrods?? I may be oversizing my block by about .30 thou, so does that mean once I buy new pistons and rings that I need to buy new conrods? Or would the old ones fit on the new pistons? I sound stupid but I really don't know.

    Thanks!!

Mightn't hurt to get the crank linished up and the rods closed and honed either??? That way they wont be out of round when she goes back together. You could get the whole lot balanced up aswell etc. etc. etc., but I guess you're just doing a quick reco? Up to you how far you want to go?..
New rod bolts def good insurance tho'....

Cheers mate, it's not really a quick reco, but not a full on one either, just enough for a bit of power and reliability.

What would be the cost regarding the crank being linished?? (im assuming that means straightened???) also what should i be paying for rods being closed and honed?? is this done by a standard engine reco place?

    Straightened no..

    Crank Shaft
Linished or re-ground to bottom limits with matched lead copper main bearings and big end bearings.

All done in house at your local recond shop..

Can't help in SYD but you should be able to get them at a similar price, if not might be worth the extra for post/freight from SA..

If you need it I will give email and ph of the speed shop that quoted the price..

This is what the guy wrote on ebay regarding the pistons, what do you guys reckon?.

I can supply a set of ACL race series pistons & moly rings, they are .030 flat tops, they are $565 a set, if you want to go out to .040" I have a set in stock and I will do them a bit cheaper at $525. I can supply an ACL race series rebuild kit which gets you pistons & rings, all the bearings, gaskets and welch plug kit, they are $799, If you wish to go ahead with an order send me your full name and address details to pat-ces@bigpond.net.au and I will put it all on an order confirmation email with my payment details on it, what you are paying for and where it is to be posted to. In case you need one a tax invoice will be supplied with the parts.
