    Default Dash Ligh

Put the key in the engnition today, and in between on the dash between the speedo and rev counter, a yellow line lit up for the 1st time ever, it has since not done it, any ideas on what the yellow light is or means???????

It was just a yellow box light, nothing else not word or outline????????

    Any ideas appreciated

Dont have a pic, it only has done it once so far, and it was when i 1st turned it over this morning, it was between the speedo and tacho and beloew the clock in the middle, about 3 down, just a yellow box, type line, thats all, i dont think it could be the Break Faulire Alternatior or Park Break, or Oil Pressure warning light, there all fine, id just love to know what it is

Id appreciate u having a look in the book, i dont have a one

is the back ground of your cluster grey dots or blue squares?
if grey dots its a series 2 calais cluster(only avalible in series 2 calais unlease swaped to difrent car). these have a low fuel light in that area and also low coolant there,
    so could be that.
if you have blue squares the dash is either a berlina dash or series 1 calais dash,

well the awnser is all yours, only two feature in that location.
low fuel light and low radiator coolant.

as you have a series 1 dash it is assumed you dont have the low fuel being not a series 2 dash.

so check your coolant or the sensor, if i recall it is half way down the side of the radiator ont he air box side.

    hope that helps

I don't think that's a calais dash. It looks like a standard taco dash from a berlina.

heres a way to tell, get a torch point it at the back ground and it might reflect enough to show you what it says, or get sun light on it.

Because that is the same dash out of my berlina and everyone else's berlina. Under the digital clock in the orange rectangle box it is blank just like berlina's. On the calais dash it has the low fuel light's etc in that rectangle box.

yes the berlina and series one calais shared the same dashes, thats why there is no low fuel light in the series 1 calais. as it wasnt in the berlinas.

the berlinas used that dash in both series where the calais changed in series 2 to the grey dot dash, this was the only dash to have the low fuel warning light

not sure about s1 to series 2, but that is a berlina dash, (or s1??) Calias dashes have full rectangle orange and red around the rev out zone, where berlinas have coloured lines.

There is nothing in the orange rectangle box, that is where the low oil light appears on the sl and exec models.

And it does have calais or berlina seats, they not sl or exec.

Yep that's what i was thinking. I also noticed how the taco doesn't have the bright red or orange where the calais do?? But vl_berlina says that that's how s1 calais where.

hmm that red line thing is something intressting didnt pick it up,
as for whats in the area below the clock i pulled that info from the holden commodore vl owners manual, but i could possibly got something wrong somewhere

i spent many hours searching for the awnser about the low fuel light and after taking my dash appart and susing it i discoverd that the place where the low fuel light is has a cable running to it but on the other side it doesnt, so bridging the point to a cirtain thing might result in a fuel light
when my cars off the road i might play with that and try and get it.
