i replaced my spark plug leads last night and my car is running really bad ever since i did it.. im 85% sure i put them all in the right place but if someone could gimme a quick rundown of which cylinder each lead on the dizzy goes to that would be greatly apreciated
Thats why you do them 1 at a time..lol
1 5 3 6 2 4 is the firing order. Spin the crank until you get the timing mark to TDC. Loosen number one plug until its just about out, as you spin the crank you should hear a hissing coming from the plug, this will tell you it is the compression stroke. If it doesn't hiss, it's the exhaust stroke and you will have to spin it around once more. When the timing mark is lined up have a look at the rotor button, it will be pointing at number one. This is number one lead, working in a clockwise direction make sure the leads are in the right order on the dizzy.
Oops, I was sure they were clockwise, 5 ltr is clockwise. Oh well, I hope he didn't put them clockwise then.
Have a look and see if they go to the right cylinders in that direction.
its quite easy to fix,
cylinder numbers are counted from front to rear, 1.2.3.4.5.6.
and with the picture Mag has posted simply run from the corosponding number on the dissy cap to the corosponding cylinder
also Mag is correct, runs anti clock wise. just pulled out a dissy cap and rotary arm from the cuboard and blow me down its the new one i bought a while ago aswell as my rotary arm.
just uploading a pic of the cap so you can see its numbers and direction
