    Talking vl fuel gauge problems

Hey guy's, i've just bought my first vl commodore. It's a vl wagon, 17 inch rims, lowered, monster tacho, tacho dash and reco motor and box (auto). Oh and it's registered. I only paid $500 for it. Bargain hey... It does have one problem though, fuel gauge is playing up. i filled the tank and the gauge read full got home and the next morning it went to full and went to empty as there was no power getting to it? Any ideas? Also the clock on the dash, it works fine but when i put the lights on the clock fades ( which i know it should do ) but then goes bright flickering betwenn dim and normal. Could there be a fault with the instrument cluster or maybe a connection. I would really appreciate any imformation. CHEERS GUY'S...
Go the allmighty 308 if the bloody thing will run!!!

the fuel guage jumping down and say empty when you still have a half tank or so left left is quite common,
it is caused by the dry solder on the back of the board or the circet braking and not conecting.
needs to be taken appart and resolderend or bridged with a bit of cable,
there is a good write up on calaisturbo, ill find the link for you.

as for the clock could be shorting or a fault in the indercator stalk, electrical fualts are hard to figgerout with out looking at it personally.

there is two ways posted in that thread, it could bejelpful to you
