K-frame, trans, engine mounts and some other stuff!

but may i ask why did you go for a 253, the only reason why im asking is that most people go for 304 or 308 and if they have money LS1!

    anyway go the 253!!!

In doing this conversion you will have less power and use more fuel. have fun

    Exclamation

also note that a 253 in a VL is not only quite silly, it's also illegal, the engine is too old. it's also alot of work as the 6's and 8's are very different underneath on the VL's, as in floor pan, they are not like the early VK's, VH's etc where you can just change cross members

    not a good idea

The VL did come out with the 308 5 litre carb Black motor, but the 253 would be illegal to put in and not worth it anyway.

I would be looking at putting in a 308 instead and put in properly according to all emission rules and so forth from that era. I personally wouldn't go to the effort.

i would go for it, because its something that hasn't really been done before and i reckon it would attract more intrest from people as its not just another 308 conversion.
