Is this too much for a VL?

Hey guys,

I know alot of you dont like these threads, but i need to know this.
My mate is really keen on this VL and we are trying to find out how much it is worth. The guy is asking $4000, but my mate only has 3.

The car is a plain white VL thats:
lowered
4 new tyres (stock rims)
2 1/2' exhaust with extractors
Manual conversion
Stereo - 2x 15' subs, 750 and 350 watt amps, rear speakers, hu etc. ($2-3 grands worth)
Tint
Steering wheel
Stock 6 (as far as we know)

So yeh, just wanting to know if 4 grand is too steep and that 3 would be a good offer?

How many K's are on the clock? Offer the seller $1500 without the sound.

Yeh I just had a look on here and it seems to be heavily overpriced. As for the sound my mate really likes it and the seller has a new stereo in his new car so yeh. I didnt really see how many k's but I think it was around the 200 mark

offer the 3 but check for rust, paint damage, condition of the engine, ask how often he has to top the coolant up, (i dont top mine up nemore, it doesn't really use any) condtion of the interior.

Best place to check and see if there is rust is to look up inside the boot round where the light is.

Is it a sl, exec, berlina, calais?

There was very little spot rust, paint was great except a dent on the front headlight cover bit. Engine was in good nick and was very clean. I forgot to add it had an electric sunroof too. My mate called and told me he bought it anyway. $3200, gets it friday hopefully. Cheers for the help guys.

4.000 is average with the stereo
i payed 4.500 for my VL with a $2k stereo

well sounds like he got a bargain actually, electric sunroofs are rare and aren't cheap to put in, when i bought my skyline i made sure it had an electric sunroof, wasn't interested unless it did.
Throw some rims on and she'll be pimpin :P

Nah not a calias, just an SL.
Now it has a pod filter, tow bar is gone, new shifter, and im putting some chrome exterior handles on it this arvo.

sounds very dear to me. I wouldn't pay any more than $100 a ton for it.

I'm getting around $175 a ton at the scrap yards these days I have heard of some guys getting as much as $300 or more but they are squashing 3 or 4 cars a day.
