That was the only thing other than plugs touched on this occasion. I've checked and double checked all connections and for air leaks in intake, all is good.
I find the only way to start it is if I give it a bit of throttle when trying to start. Not touching the accelerator pedal, it wont start.
The only other thing is that it's over fuelling (I know this because it's popping out the exhaust when going down a hill in gear with foot off the go pedal).
Could it be that the over fuelling is leaving petrol in the pots when it's turned off therefore having to start the car as if flooded resulting in starting with foot on accelerator? The only problem with this theory is that when left overnight or longer it should have dried out making the car start as normal, but it doesn't.
any help appreciated.
