How long have you had the car? If you haven't replaced the filter in that time then it is at least that old......but other than that, how long is a piece of string?
Had the car 2yrs, but my brother had it b4 me for about 14yrs and always serviced.
What needed to be done was done whatever it was..
While under there I checked hoses etc. fuel pump been replaced, hose from damper to pump-electrical plugs on pump changed and all the breather hoses in behind the tin plate in the wheel arch all changed too, so you think the filter would have been done too!!![]()

Check the service book for the interval, then see how many k's your car has done. It will give you an indication on when it should have been changed last.
the fuel filters come in a big choice and arent expensive so I would change it soon and keep a record, a mechanic showed me that some muck flows out of the old filter when removed, giving an indication of what it trapped
yes those rubber hoses can eventually burst, or pressure can blow a lose hoseclip ,up to 14 gallons leaking into an underground car park could be interesting.....
I was alarmed to see all the possibilitues for leakage of petrol, including torn hoses from bush bashing, I was used to the older cars where the petrol was drawn up a metal tube from the top of the tank
different brands are different colours made in different countries, wont be able to tell how old it is by the colour or place of manufacture.![]()
just change it![]()
