clear tail lights???
hey
i was just wondering if u can get altezza syle tail lights for a vl. ive seen tinted tail lights but not clear ones. if so how much & where could i get some?

You can get clear style tail lights, try ebay.. But please don't.. They look stupid.

I don't think you buy tinted lights I tink it's a spary that you buy and spray them on also incase you are not aware there illegal to have them tinted a mate of mine had his car taken off the road just cuase of that.
Also the clear lights I haven't seen any for a VL yet nor the VN's I have a set on my VR and they look great.

Yes I agree that they look better and there legal as well but I don't think you can get aftermarket or genuine brand new anymore you would be a very lucky person.

Y must everyone rice there commys???? :b: alteza lights look so bad on a commy, monaro lights on a vx are ok but not on a vl, go the tinted vk option, a heaps better way to go.

Too true, I almost liked altezza lights on vs's for a few days.. But Something hit me when I saw them popping up on stock looking cars with stock suspension and no other mods except a 4" tip and "performance lights"
Now every time I see a vs with them I laugh.

I agree the clear tail lights look stupid they arent even all clear i found a set on ebay buying now for $99 but stil not worth paying that much.
Stil rekn tinting the way to go.

Those rear lights look pretty damn good... Would be better tinted but atleast they dont have orange indicators on em... Would make the VL look a bit newer...

but yeh the orange doesnt look the greatst but clear looks horrible.....
red and black would look ok on the burgendy or red vl's..... maybe?? so try tinting the clear and leaving red...
i dont see how cop's can bust for tinting them!! just say its an original light and make sure the spray job is good???

Every1 has their own opinions about things to do to their car, the clear tailights aren't that bad, just depends on the colour of the car. Mines cream, the orange indicators look alright on it, tint; never really liked the full tinted tailights, but then again; colour of the car. If anyone goes ahead with the clear lights tinted some pics would be great, just to see how it would turn out. As for calais rear lights; awful, something bout all the colours in it, mainly the white tops. As for berlina, haven't paid any attention to them, are they different?

The rims maketh the ride!
I was looking at the clears and wondered what they'd look like Berlina style. That is, there are raised 'ridges' that stick out from the lights that are painted black on the Berlina to make it look tinted. If you painted them (or coloured using a black paint marker etc.) they might look okay. Screwed if I'm gonna try it though but if anyone goes ahead with the idea, some pics would be great

tinted be using a thick as black marker. works a treat. needs to be re done everynow and then. i redo mine maybe once every 2 months, but it isnt out in the sun or rain much so it lasts longer.
strongly reccomend it if you arent keen to spray tint - risking illegal.
if the marker needs to be removed i have used biemerpac alcohol wipes to tidy up bits where i screwed up. after a few times you get heaps better at it adn it only takes 5 mins to do.

Looks nice on a clean white car, getting my mates old tinted lights just to see how they look on my car, cuz im retinting to midnight express, and painting the bumpers black, wasn't game to do it to mine just incase it turned out shit. Which it prob will cuz its cream and grey atm.

XPLOD is a one off. made it myself using the computer, some contact and a good sharp knife. It now has a red X behind it like the sony brand X to finish off.

will do, something i am keen to have a play with. might get some standard honda lights and start mucking around with them for a fit before i play with expensive altezzas.
i think the sides would be most difficult as they have a lean to them, and hte vl is pretty well vertical. worth a play in the holidays anyway!
