i just 'inherited' a VL auto... so far i've replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump and starter motor... when i turn it over it will idle (roughly) for around 5 sec. and cut out... if i touch the accelerator it dies immediately... any help/suggestions would be appreciated...
theres a crank angle sensor inside the dizzy open the cap if theres funny coloured dust in there the dizzy bearing has gone you can possible clean the little led sensor and get it too run but it wont for too many days the sensor could also be dead without the dust if not that airflow meter or possibly the little power transistor on the outside of the dizzy little roung thing i think with a wire plugged on if i remember right
If your at your wits end trying to figure out whats wrong, take it to a shop that knows about vl's they can be tricky cars and being up to 21 years old the wiring looms can be quite corroded and cause all sorts of mystery issues that come and go. Do not go to a chain store like ultratune etc. I got burned $1k and the prob still wasn't fixed. go to a performance shop as they would have dealt with heaps of vl's.
