i just bought my first car.. been fixing it up little bits at a timer, i was messing around today when i realised i didnt have a horn so i investigated just to find that behind the steering wheel one of the wires wasnt conected so i conected it all back up put it back together and all was good my horn was working again...
i went out to my car later on today to find when i opened the door my horn went off and woulnd stop until i closed the door, i have no idea why it is doing this so i just disconected the wires at the horn at the front of the car. can anyone tell me why its doing this ??? i thought maybe it might be conected my my alarm but i tried all that and my alarm has a seperate siren so i dunno
it might be ur car alarm dude u might have to pres the button b4 u open the door maybe that might help.

the horn is under the front bumper
Now you know why it was disconnected.
its not the car alarm i did push the buton im ot that stupid.. yeah i kno its there i have one on each side but there is only wiring for the passenger side.
Check the fuse box, there may be a short in that that is crossing the power over to the horn when the interior light is comes on.
Sounds like a good thing to me.
i think it is something to do with the interior light coz now that doesnt come on at all anymore.. im not that great with electrics can any post up some pics or instructions or somethng on how to check in the fuse box??
Well the simple fact of the matter is that after nearly 21 years the wiring looms have corroded and this causes all sorts of headaches. Poor quality wiring was used to cut costs as the driveline was very expensive for holden and they had to try and recoup some of the loss. Which also results in the vl having the flimsiest chassis of any commodore because of extra structural stuff being removed also.
