    Default auto shifting early?

howdy all. i dont know if its just me bein used 2 the old tri-matic box. but my vl seems 2 shift out of gears real early. the only time it really holds the gears is when its on the floor. is this normal for the vl autos? allso has any 1 got a shift table , thats shows when it should be shifting at and at what speed?

yeah its computer controlled so it doesn't need the vacuum line that the 202 trimatic uses.

the 6 cyl jatco auto is much better than any trimatic
it has 2 modes, via the orange switch on the trans selector

in pwr (power) it hangs onto the gears a bit longer when changing up
you only get 4th in economy after everything is warmed up

I would disagree with this statement. By choosing to push the button in you are only allowing the gearbox to select 4th gear.

Yes. Whatever gear you select it will stay in that gear. If you select 2nd it will take off and stay in second. And i have to disagree rb26dett, driving around with the pwr button in does infact make the gears change earlier. The only time I used the PWR button was when doing anything over 80kmph.
