ok pretty soon im plannin on sellin my vt and goin back to another vl, but this time i want a calais turbo, my only worry is how much insurance is gonna set me back on it.. so im just wondering how much some of u guys with vl turbos are payin for full insurance? and who with? i havnt asked around yet but people r tellin me it could be like 2 - 3grand a year!
and im 21 with a clean driving record and never made a claim b4...
cheers guys!
go to car insurers web sites, like ammi, just car, etc etc. and you can get an instant quote from there by following a few steps, like car model, modifications, accessories, etc.
My I recommend using an insurance broker to find you the best deal.
ok cheers, thanks guys
Try VIGIL on 131430 they insure modified cars and they were pretty cheap.
just cars was going to do mine.
How old are you?
hey mate. ive had some crazy qoutes 4 vlt comp insurance. prices ranged from 2500g up to 4000g , others simply couldnt do it. but i spose alot of thts to do with my age and all. lucky i jst ended up getin a n/a executive. even then tho the cheapest comp insurance i kud get on it was 2500.
the germans designed it, the aussies built it, the japs got it moving and the wogs got it dosing...
im 21 mate..
ive tried doing online quotes but its a bit hard wen i dnt know exactly whats going 2 be done to the vl i want to buy coz i havnt found one yet, coz they ask for every mod, km's, condiotion, every little detail...
thanks anyways guys...guess when i find one im intrested in ill jus get all the details and ring up some places 2 get quotes, i was just after a rough idea at what id be looking at..
cant wait to get back behind the wheel of another vl tho!!![]()
well that makes it very tricky, I would be budgeting for $3000-$4000 per year for premiums on the type of vlt that you want, could even be more than that, Just cars were gonna insure mine full comp for around $800 (modded NA with close to stock turbo power). But im an old fart now lol 29. If you want a quick car and your under 25 be prepared to fork out big bucks for premiums.
Theres a few people around that are only paying around 800 for full comp insured for 10k+
Justcars were good to me, really nice to deal with, and I was in the process of getting agreed value, I can't remember my original quote for 3rd party fire/theft, but I'd like to try them.
Vigil was meant to be really good, but apparently they don't do under 25's anymore. Only a year until I'm 25. Bring it on.
dare I suggest it but a non turbo VL 6 has all the power that a young and not very experienced driver can handle which is maybe why the turbo insurance is so expensive, premiums are based on the claims experience
[QUOTE=harry3;618611]dare I suggest it but a non turbo VL 6 has all the power
LOL, i wouldnt class a na vl 6 as having power, barely turns the wheels
Just the word Turbo will scares an insurance company.
so many young drivers kill themselves and others with old souped up cars, please do an advanced driving course and fix the suspension and tyres to cope with the extra power
older drivers have the experience of driving before radial tyres improved the grip in the wet dramaticly, so they learned at least some ability to cope with skids and fast cornering
the VL6 would do 120 mph when new and surely this is fast enough for anyone
my vr could do that. theres too many try hards, out there tho. do up a car for sure, just dont race on the street leave it on the strip and make sure you can stop
ive already owned a n/a vl 6 before and the power it had was pretty decent with the mods i had, but just not enuff 2 keep me happy... i get what ur sayin tho champ!
anywayz still browsin around for one, im not in a rush really i just wana wait till i can find the perfect one, that is exactly how i like it and for a decent price..
