my wife has had it stall 8 times in a short distance, once while driving but the others when at sitting at lights. also when changing from park to reverse. but it only ever happens when the engine has warmed up. i took it for a spin and i was into it and it would only surge when the revs picked up but nevere stalled. i thought maybe the temp sender. haven't done diagnosis check yet. but i checked the intake pipe and it had separated between the TB and filter. would the sucking of hot air from the exhaust cause these problems? as in the ecu thinks there is cold air going in and puts more fuel in but there's actually hot air going in so it's over-fueling. the exhaust was a bit smelly.

i replaced the CAS not that long ago.
i haven't the chance to do a diagnosis with the ecu and get codes. i haven't checked the compression but she's only done 150,000kms.
sorry "comp" i was refering to your computer!
the VL rb30 motor will not have a compression problem.
very reliable donk!

there mustnt be any leaks in the induction between the AFM and the engine, the flexible rubber sections can split with age
Mine had a similar issue where the Dizzy was defective and the shaft was moving up and down (too much play) and was knocking out the CAS but when you jiggled the big plug on top it would fix it for a bit. swapped the dizzy over and it never stalled again. Yeah and there must be no air leaks or the engine will not get a correct A/F ratio and that will also mess things up.
well it's not as bad since i fixed that pipe. i went out this morning in it and it went to stall a couple of times but it may have been my reflexes of puting it in neutral in touching the throttle that kept it going. a mechanic friend of mine told me to bring it to his shop one saturday soon and we'll play around with it. luckily i'm in no rush now after buying the new car. i still think it's either the AFM or temp sender. he agrees.
well i changed the temp sender and it's not as bad. I took it for a run and one the temp guage reached the 3rd bar it stalled as soon as i came to a stop at a round-about. yet when i got home i stopped at my driveway and she didn't stall again. The plug is busted and i've got it taped on, maybe that's the problem?????
well i reset the ecu and now it's all good. just have to sell the car now.
how do you reset the ecu????
