car broke down fri arvo, wife driveing home ,called nrma guy,he said looks like fuel pump ,drawing to much power, must be us, got car home, changed high pressur pump ,still no fuel, so i changed inturnal pump, still no fuel, both pumps working ,fuel not getting past fuel damper ,could the damper be the problem, manual not much help,
thanks![]()
Hey mate, try the fuel filter, it could be blocked.
If that doesn't work disconnect the hose after each pump then turn on the ignition and see if the pump is actually pumping.
also the tank must have some petrol in it or the internal pump wont prime
yep, had fuel ,put in 40lts, fuel not getting to filter, pumps are priming but no fuel, i will have another look later, and see whats comes up
Your pressure regulator could also be stuffed and not giving enough pressure for the fuel to get past the filter. Also yes the filter could be blocked. it happened to me, it expanded like a balloon, LOL it was slightly ammusing but was covered by warranty. They cut it open immediately to see what was blocking it but couldn't find anything.
as i said ,fuel not getting past regulator to filter, will fit new filter today ,and see what happens ,but its not the filter, i think must be the regulator this becoming a pain
update-- well changed fiter fuel, lines blownout regulator no blokage pumps working
ok tried to start it, got some response, but ideling poorly conked out a few times ,now no go ,im off to pub for think juise may start abit later only hope![]()
regulators are a exy part to buy on the off chance it that, best bet would be to get it pressure tested b4 goin out and buyin one.
I was goin to do mine, i had a fuel prob on me VP just dumpin in way too much, fort it was regulator but wasnt it was ECU sending wierd pulses to injectors, 100 bucks wasted
If i went and got it tested first would have cost me no more than say 20bucks to get it tested
yer sorry, its the damper i was talking about, well went to pub won 300, did not try to start car, see what happens to morrow, looks like a work shop job .![]()
thanks for your help guys will be intersting to see what to problem is probably something simple i hope after all this lol![]()
did you replace the pumps with new pumps? if the impellor is broken inside an old dry brittle pump it may still make noise but not pump fuel.
is the inertia pump seated in the swirlpot correctly?
try and prime three or four times before you start it again to make sure the fuel is under pressure with no air in the lines.
good luck at the workshop.
Nobody wants to play with me
yes replaced both pumps seems like it went into the swirl pot ok
when you turn the key and the pump makes a noise for 6 seconds that is priming the injectors.
when you releave the pressure in the fuel lines you should prime 3-4 times before startingb the engine again.
Nobody wants to play with me
yer tried that a few times did not fire, its at the hospital now, should find out about lunchtime
car still at doctors in intesive care. lollike waiting for a baby to be born ,
lol
might it be the fuel filter installed the wrong way around?
filter in right way ,got doctor stumped i think he's a bit slack, been there 3 days now long labor lol![]()
from what Ive heard a new internal pump cant prime itself unless there are several gallons of petrol in the tank
