you have to take sterring whell off, maybe with a puller ,then have to locate where the pin is ,push pin in ,and barrel should come out, if first time you have to break into where pin is.

go to a library, look up how to on a VL workshop manual and copy the pages needed

someone damaged my passengers door lock by tring to force it open

a recent survey of stolen cars placed the VL third of all most stolen models

why would so many people want to steal a 20 year old car?
for parts perhaps as holden dont keep many now

remember from my experiences, the locks gradually wear so that often any VL key will open any VL lock

Thanks all I thought I'd have to do that. Yeah I knew vls were prone to being nicked, my brothers was ages ago a total write off when he found it. I better go and start pulling this thing apart...cheers

wheel off, indicator/headlight switch out. at the base of the ignition cylinder there is a slot approx 1/2 - 1inch in length as previously described you may need to break the slot in using a thin flat blade screwdriver
ignition in the loock position with a flat bladed object (eg. hacksaw blade) insert into the slot and you will feel the spring clip depress then wiggle and pull the ignition out.
it may take a few attempts but you will be an expert in no time.
