As soon as turbo kicks in the car breaks down ??? Possible coils?? any help

If it chokes or splutters the instant it boosts, then its more often then not due to an air leak in the cooler piping somewhere. Or a loose hose clamp.Originally Posted by VL BOY
If its able to boost a little before it splutters/chokes, then your looking at too much boost, or spark issues or fuel delivery issues. From my experiences with the RB20 if you run too much boost you can clearly hear the turbo 'overspooling', but i dont think that applies to all turbo types.

how much boost are you running and what size injectors are you using?
does the rb20 have a fuel cut thing for when it over boosts as my mazda used to do that all the time when i had a cracked intercooler pipe
