    its a straight swap

    from memory

undo your whipper switches and your demister switch

then undo the top part of the dash

then theres 4 screws/bolts that hold the dash in undo them

then theres 2? i think plugs + speedo cable to remove

    then just reverse

Hey goon. Read my thread about fitting a tacho/calais dash, it give clear tips, especially regarding the oil pressure sender. the gauge sender id different to the light sender, so is the wiring on the back of the dash. John

    Default Dash

Me again goon! The thread i posted was titled "fitting Calais dash to exec", to find it you have to scroll down to the bottom of the VL page then click on the box that has 1 month in it, when it drops down pick 2 months then click on show threads, the thread is about 3/4 of the way down the longer page. I found your thread mate, it still didnt explain what i wanted, unless i read it incorrect...

I still cant get this tacho to idle the way it should, its like it has a crap signal or something... Should there be a wire coming out of the tacho that go's to somewhere on the cluster setup? maybe the loom?

mine was a straight plug in job and it all worked fine. I did use the top cluster loom that came with the cluster tho. my cluster was from a manual car and mine is auto, the only thing i had to do was swap the speedo for my auto one because the manaul cluster does not have a speed sensor to plug into for the auto to kick down. (would change up but never down)
