    Default Oil Pressure Gauge

At 100ks my needle on oil gauge sits on 2nd white notch, and at idle sits between red notch and 1st white line, this is when all warmed up, does this seem right to you people. I think a bit low myself, started after changing bloody oil filter awhile ago.Appreciate any help thanks in advance. Martin

Would still appreciate feed back from above question but have another one for you people, awhile ago I changed Purolator oil filter for Ryco one as car having dry start up,apparently Purolator ones dont have non return valves,so on went Ryco, same thing is happening ( Ryco is supposed to have non return valve)What filter is guarrantied to have a valve in it,or am I asking the impossible. Thanks again Martin

you need to have your oil pressure check manually, more so if you have the tappet tap tap noise. don't rely on the gauges. it is not uncomon for the oil pump to fail equally the oil pressure gauge can fail and the oil pressure switch on the side of the block also.

assuming the filter needs a non return valve, I would get a valvoline filter for the engine as Ive never had any problems from them

ryco some years ago did produce some filters with defective non return valves but any still around would be old stock now

Default i had the same thin with my skyline

i asked a mechanic mate he said change the oil run some cheap oil with ya old filter 4 a week then get some hpr30 penrite oil and give it another oil change replacing the filter this time. im half way through the week of cheap oil and its already looking better, dont run thin oils with older engines
