As was stated in last years thread I had coolant drop in res. without any apparent sign, until one day I found creamy sludge in rad. cap and under oil filler cap,so we all know what has happened, right.Anyway mechanic said try putting in rad. some Silver Seal. Which he said should seal cracks and leaks, and clean up creamy sludge in oil, which it has but after a month or two I am still skimming sludge out off rad cap and cleaning res. bottle out.He said cleaning sludge from rad. will aventially dissappear, but this hasnt happened, any thoughts on this matter would be much appreciated. Thanks Martin
get a new radiator cap and make sure its the right pressure if you are still leaking water, this is often overlooked
it depends on how big any cracks are and how much oil has made its way in to the cooling system it will take a long time to get it out and the silver seal may not have completely sealed it all up, still allowing the oil to get in the cooling system, a complete system flush would get it out however it may also get the silverseal out aswell. aslong as the engine is not overheating the little bit of oil may not cause any problems and you may just have to persist with the skimming and cleaning for a while yet!
Nobody wants to play with me
Thanks Guys for replies, I shall live and hope and keep skimming then. Thanks again,Martin
