    Unhappy Getting Hot

My vl started gettig hot about 3/4 on the temp gauge, I found that when I pulled over to check it had built up pressure and when i eventully opened the cap most of the water had gone and was really dry in the radiator it took about 3 litres of water to fill. After about 70ks same again. Next morning car would start but when you accelerated it just died had no power. No signs of oil in water or vis versa. Cracked Head?

check for leaks at all welsh plugs ,hose connections, water pump and radiator if non are evident fill the system with the engine running bleed the system and check for bubbling in the radiator filler if the water is bubbling out its agood indicator the head is cracked get a compression check! not all cracked heads have water and oil transfer! pressure in a hot radiator and engine is normal especially when very hot.

I had the exact same problem in september. went to a machanic.. there was a crack in the back of the head. quoted $800 (people said i was getting ripped off.. i wasnt sure) so I went to a mechnic who was a friend of a friend. I got a engine (from a skyline) with 70,000km on it. I was charged $950. Works perfectly now!
