Default what happens with watewr in petrol

does anyone know what happens if you get water in the petrol in the 6 cyl engine?
is there any point where the water is trapped or collects, is there any way of draining the water out?

can water damage the fuel injector system?

A little bit of water won't hurt. All petrol tanks will have water in them to a certain extent because of condensation. The biggest problem is corrosion. The inside of the tank can rust, this will bugger the fuel pump and block the filter. Put metho in the tank, this will absorb the water. If there is a lot of water in the tank, the fuel will float on the water and the car will not run as it isn't getting any fuel. Take the tank out and clean it if that is the case.

I take it thats from hydraulic lock? Perhaps if you pulled an injector and stuck the hose in! Pretty hard to get it from the fuel system alone.

I think hydraulic lock damage is a risk if any type of cold air intake is made on a VL that involves getting the air from under the mudguard, but I was wondering how the fuel injection system copes with a small amount of water, also is there anywhere the water banks up in the fuel system, for example on an old HR holden, most of the water was trapped in the filter bowl of the fuel pump

Most of it will be trapped in the fuel tank still mate, at the bottom. How much water are you talking?

water wont do to much.. it just wont run at its best as it harder to burn...

and unless u stuck a garden hose into the air intake its not gonna to detremental damage to the engine...

i mean high hp turbo cars run a water mist sprayer in the intake to stop pinging at high boost
