    u probably wont see 200rwkw with 6g on a vl v8...

if u could save up an extra few gs i would convert it to injection and buy a blower for it or u could go for a blow threw carby setup... to try and get the most bang for your buck

Been looking at a similar thing with my 5L VL, going EFI. It seems the better way to go is buy a whole motor, rather than convert the carby to FI. Maybe one day I'll do it.

my mate just built a twin turbo V8 VL not long ago. off the clock in 3rd gear. estimated top speed just over 300kms/hr. loses traction at 180km/hr. hell it loses traction every gear whether you go up or down. he sold it to an older rev head who only drove it for a week and is now too scared to keep driving it. if you have 8g i might be able to get him to sell it as thats what he paid for it off my mate. it cost my mate bugger all to build. he got the car for free off a friend and the turbos for free off a guy who owed him money. so only cost him to buy parts to freshen up the motor.

Make it into a Walki,if you have deep pockets, inject and stroke the 308,nine inch it and put a 4speed turbo 700 shift kitted and a stall. One of my mates has one in that ferrari red walki kit,355 stroker injected, turbo 700 and nine inch locker.Very nice car, very quick too, well he bought it the way it is he paid 26grand for it,so i spose it should be good for that kind of money.lol

hey bangers, you really think it would have costed less than 26 grand to build my mates Walki replica?I dont thinkso mate i was there when he purchsed it from the bloke who built it and had reciepts exceeding 50grand.The motor had reciepts of 15 grand (had the original twin throttle body and engine dress up gear).Harrop crank and moving parts, gearbox had roughly 5grand spent on it,had a bullet proof diff (9inch 4.11's,detroit locker aint cheap 31spline axles/shortened and modified to suit.)Full retrimmed interior, paint job spent over 6grand to get it straight as.All engineered. And thats just some of the things that were done on this VL.I dont think you bangers would be able to build something like that for less than 26 grand.

It's all who you know. A friend of mine builds engines in street and drag car for $1000 plus parts. He also resprays cars in acrylic or 2pack. For me he'll do a car in acrylic for $1000 plus paint or 2pack for $2000 plus paint. Twice that for others. And that includes all straightening. He actually straightened and sprayed the original Mad Max car last year. He also does interiors and sound systems. I can get a 9inch diff for $500 plus extra to have a locker fitted and axles shortened.

So we say $2500 for paint and spray job
no more than $1500 for bodykit
    $1500 for interior and material
    $1000 to build motor
    $5000 for engine parts
$1500 for diff and being set up.
$5000 i could buy a racing gearbox but i'll go with you on that one

    total $18,000

As i said it's all who you know.

Fair enough for $26000 if he's had to have all work done in a shop but no way i'd spend over $50k for that amount of stuff.

yes he's a good bloke to know. He keeps getting offered a job at Rocket Industries but he doesn't want to move back to Sydney. He wouldn't be popular on here though as he thinks the 5.7L and 6L are absolute crap.
