not much activity here lately so a previous point is worth mentioning
there are 2 specially shaped rubber fuel lines for the 6 cyl motor behind the fuel tank, they are easy to see and should be checked as they will eventually leak or burst, remember the high fuel pressure.
I hose is or recently was available from holden but the other wasnt, the recommended procedure was to use a length of plain hose in a wide loop. this had been done on my VL wagon but this hose kinked shut on the freeway, cutting off the fuel and later when it had cooled down, opened again so all was well. I assume heat was eventually getting back there at high speed running and softening the hose. I added a flexible hose from a fuel funnel and no problems since
whenever theres a loss of fuel that fixes itself, look for a loose section of fuel hiose that may be able to kink shut then later unkink
