hey hows it goin. i recently rebulit my rb30 motor. it used to cut out and loose power at about 3600rpm i thought it was just a faulty fuel pressure regulator but never got to test my theory because i had alredy ripped the engine out. i just finished my rebuild i can get it to start it run fine for a few seconds but then it starts to run rought and die. ive changed the leads, spark plugs, tested the fule pressue of the pump witch is ok and fuel pressure reg.
any ieads on wat the problem could be??? would be appreicated cheers!
Tried the AFM?
had a good look at all my hoses none of them seamed damaged wiped oil around the gasket joints on the pleunim chamber it wasent suckin air. ill got to the wreackers on wednesday and get another air flow meter. or just test the one i got now.
****in easter nothings open.
cheers for the help let ya know how it goes.
so will run if u keep the revs up to it ? or does it just die a few seconds after the engine has been started ? the only other things that i can that i can think of are
1. crank angle sensor inside the distributer
2. AFM
3. distributer put in wrong
4. timing belt put on wrong
5. water in fuel
6. a dud coil
those are some of the problems i've had wid my VL they are fairly easy to
fix if u have a few spanners and other basic tools . Oh and i've been told that it's not uncomon for the wires on the CAS (crank angle sensor ) to break off the plug so it prob wouldn't hurt to check them too posibly
yeah i can keep it running if i keep the revs at 3000 to 4000 rpm but when it comes down to idle it just dies.
.i treid doing a fault test with the computer and i got nothing from that that was a **** to do seeing that it wouldnt idle properly.
.i checked the afm for condanuity and is power supply that was ok.
.ill check the distrubutor i never took it off so it and checked that soo ill have a look.
cherrs ill let you know
