Default vt commodore windscreen seal on vl?????

Hey all. was goin to mention this in my other thread but i deciced to start up a newie. had a look for info on jc regarding the use of diffrent windscreen seals on the vl but couldnt find anything.Ive heard of people using vt seals ,that they fit straight in. is it definatley the vt seal thats used?

When the cars goes off to the panel beaters iam allso goin to get them to take the widscreen out and treat the bit of rust thats just starting to come thru in a few small places and yer hopefully reinstalled using the vt seal.any info appreciated.

never heard of it, and honestly dont see how it would fit, and if you made it fit id imagine it would look like ****. Anything VB -VL should fit but VN onwards is a completly different seal. Im all ears though, and if you do it post some pics.

It is a universal seal, any windscreen place will be able to do it and it should be cheaper than using a VL seal.

You will need to fill in the holes where the original moulds were fitted.

    My VL looks Grandpa spec..lol

No rust because the waters leaking right through and not causing any moisture

May not be rust holes (at a guess oviously you have seen your car) but if where your air/con intake thing is can get blocked up with leaves on the water drain so the water leaks through the heater and down to the passenger footwell before anywhere else for some reason. Hmmm thats really hard to explain.

Yeah nar I wish haha. It's rust at the bottom of the windscreen and it runs down to the floor of the passenger side. This is the only bad thing about my VL at this stage. Any suggestions on a temp fix? Putty or something?

What are the holes, i havent pulled my seal out so i dont know what it looks like, im actually dreading taking the seal out caus i dont want to know how bad the rust is.
Also would it be worth me pulling out the seal to check the rust and then put it back in, is it much work to get back in?

The hole's are pretty small I just gave it a quick zap with the mig with some cardboard slipped in between the roof liner and the roof no need to pull the whole roof liner off although I will be doing that when I mig the holes on the roof from the roofracks and the chrome strips.
The factory seal is not much it's 2 strips of seal top and bottom with your plastic covers left and right then when thats all off you will be left with alot of black silocone around your screen piano wire is the way to go you need a freind for this, one on either side of the screen work the wire back and forth all the way round the screen
