Default New RIMs / Rubber Installed - Issue

    Howdy All,

On the weekend I picked up a set of VY COMMODORE 16 INCH RIMS and almost brand new rubber on all wheels... the Rears are a 225 and the front are 215.

I'm getting a small amount of rubbing from the front occasionally when I turn the wheels toward a full lock.

I was wondering what I may need to do to fix this? The suspension on the VL is tired, if I got new Springs / struts for the front would this solve it?

the car is now seriously overtyred and you will have to relearn its cornering behaviour, especially in the wet

when in a corner, the tyres may hang on well but suddenly let go with no warning at all so be ready to catch the car with the steering

Huh? ^^^ He means his tyres are rubbing now, not his car is handling badly.

I'm assuming your car is lowered? Is it rubbing on the springs / shockers, or on the wheel guard?

    Yes your right Cobez,

It handles great.. really hangs on hard around corners now... The rubbing on the car is the issue... I'm uncertain at this stage what it may possibly be rubbing on.. With the wet weather I've not been keen to get out n get dirty to look.

Its seems to only be rubbing sometimes as you turn right lock... which makes me think it could be a saggy spring / shock issue...

I will try and identify where the rubbing is coming from.

Sounds like it might be the back of your rim / tyre closest to the back of the car, rubbing on the springs on full lock.........
