Any ideas, my rear suspension clunks over rough surfaces. I replaced the panard bushes, no change.
How low is your car? What size wheels have you got on there? Any suspension mods besides the bush change?

it's probably your exhaust hiting the penhard rod. change your exhaust rubbers(middle and rear. they would be sagging from age),if that don't work then get the exhaust bent over the penhard rod more.![]()
Yep, do the zorst rubbers. My Panhard rod has made a nice big dent in the pipe since I lowered my car.

i had a severe clunking in my VL, turned out to be the bushes in the upper diff control arms... apparently its a very common problem on VL's... the clunk mainly occured when accellerating (only when pedal was tapped or pushed) and when going over bumps... if it helps

Go over a bad section of road or whatever and the housing will hit the rubbers.
Rip them out and hack saw them back so there is about 1 inch left of them.
They are a mongrel to put back in, just use a flat head screwdriver and grease to wedge in and a few coldies. (unless you can cut them in there!)
Only Negative thing with doing this is you will get more scraping on passenger rear tyre wall. You can solve this with a adjustable panhard rod.
Positive thing is no more clunking as it bottoms out and giving the spring and shocks more travel therefore more of a comfy ride...
I did this a few months ago and cant believe how much better it is.
