Black box, drivers kick panel...BCM?

Can someone tell me what this black box is just above the driver kick panel. Is some type of Module? My windscreen wipers have been staying on and the indicators have been playing silly buggers. I ripped it out and there is abit of corrosion in the box. Why didn't they cover this like they did with the ECU lol.
This area gets abit wet so could this be the cause for the dodgy indicators and windscreen wipers? (the clicker modules seems to be working ok) Its out now so maybe I will give it a spray and try it out again or maybe I'll just get another one....

Can I get another one of any VL?

Ok I know VL's dont come out with a BCM but this black box has got me stuffed.
There is 10 wires for a plug on one side and 14 wires for a plaug on other...
I've got it out atm and cant see what it does???I tried everything and everything still works lool.

Has anyone got a rough idea what this is? Everything works without it I must say again.
