I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE AUTO CPU WITH A MANUAL ONE SO THE TRANS READS AS A 5 SPEED AUTO INSTEED OF A 4 SPEED AUTO FOR THAT EXTRA POWER.
just seen this in a vl ad in paper,,,, any truth it be better?
or a crock of s#it?
lol
there is very little difference in the programming from auto to manual, i dont think you will get any more power.
the transmission is controled by a seperate unit
go with your gut feeling... its a crock
thought as much
cheers
It's a trick with all the old Nissans when you run a manual ecu in an auto the auto goes into some kind of fail mode, you have to shift them manually but they shift alot harder like that. My mate does it in his Silvia whenever his gearbox is near death to get a few more months out of it he sticks a manual ecu in. He does prefer the auto ecu since it's much nicer (if a bit soggy) to have a fully working self shifting box. But that's what the guy in the add would be talking about
sweet thanks guys
only difference on a vl ecu from auto to manual is the fuel cut (sim to a rev limit) becouse of the diff ratios are different between the two ,,
where do you plug the trans control computer (drivers side lower dash, behind the ex fuse box cover.) into the manual ecu??
Nobody wants to play with me
