removing k frame

hey all

just giving the front end of the el a majour ovehaull. new bushes, control arms etc etc.any way iam wantinfg to take the front k frame out. just to give it a clean and mayb get it powder coated.

was havvin a look before,seems all i'd have to do is supprt the engine,remove engine mounts ,undo the steering rack ,undo the 4 main bolts holding the frame in and drop it out. question is the front frame is just a bolt on /off item isnt it? and i wont have to get the frame alligned wen i reinstall it?

i did the same to my vn and had to get a wheel alignment...also while the k frames out might be worth wile to replace your sump gasket...i did with my vn (ps i know a vn aint a vl but there very similar,,,if not the same on the front end)

hey mate. yer iam goin to hav to get a wheel alignment anyway ,coz i got adjustable top bearing plates and i took the struts out so it going to be all out wen i put it bak in. but yer i'll have a look at my sump gasket ,see what sorta nic its in.

sump gasket seamed sweet so i didnt touch it..

awesome.....yeh better off not touching it if its not leaking...lol when i did mine (front end on me vn) me sump gasket was pretty rooted anyway lol
