Default Heater blows luke warm air help

    Hello,

I hope someone can give me an idea of what to do to correct this problem, ok I have a vl commodore berlina, the heater wasnt working so I have just bought and installed a new thermostat, also flushed the radiator and motor and put new coolant in it, before I did this I got no heat at all, now I get luke warm air but nothing more, than fan works mostly so I do get it working on some settings every now and again, the heat blows out of the correct places depending on the heater controlls I use so floor, face or window, its starts off cold but then once the motors warm I get luke warm air but thats it, how do I get proper heat I suspect it may be a heater core flush I need to do but not sure and I have gas installed so the heat pipes going through the firewall have pipes that attach to the gas system so I'm reluctant to try flushing with a hose. does anyone have a suggestion to what might be causing the heater to not fully be warm, and what I can do to correct it? any help is appreciated, thx

Check the heater hoses will your hand and both should be hot, the hoses that go to the gas mixer from your heater hoses can be flushed the same..

Put your heater on full and flush it forwards and backwards a few times..
I was confused now I'm just not so sure!!

the water tap is under the dash on drivers side it runs on vacuum which operates a vacuum motor which turns tap or valve on or off, check that vacuum line hasnt fallen off the top of it or fallen off the control panel at the other end behind the dashboard

you can get hot air using the freeflow without the fan

Thx for your ideas much appreciated, I have check under the dash and all pipes seem to be connectd ok, no loose wondering pipes, the heater pipes the come through the firewall into the heater core feel warm when the car has been running for a bit so I'm guessing the water is heating up and going to the heater core properly, gonna recheck after I take it for a drive to see how hot they get, my only thoughts are that the heater core/radiator part is blocked but I'm not totally certain, what does the water tap look like? is it the round white attachment on one of the hoses or something else?

I'm no expert but buy reading the text ya have to be careful what you are doing or you can cause damage.
Can you post it up for him so he can read it?
