I was checking for any loose screws or bolts and in removing the plastic air intake pipe, a rubber hose from it to the engine broke as the rubber had rotted, pulling it from the other end, the plastic pipe broke off, fortunately I could remove one from my spare parts car
there are 2 hoses, both with right angle bends, the other goes to the PVC valve, hope I can find some hoses that will fit
the bolts holding the cover to top of engine were quite loose but no oil leaks
then it was only running on 5 cylinders as I had knockes off a spark plug lead, perhaps I should have left well enough alone
what pipe you need exactly?
ive just change every single pipe on my engine. fuel, vacuam and coolant pipes so they are avalible

i think he means the direct pipe from t/b to maf.... if theres an air leak between the 2, it will run like crap.

it runs from half way along the intake pipe to the top of the engine and seems to be for sucking or pushing air to engine???
seems that after 20 years of under bonnet heat and vibration, all rubber and plastic bits should be suspect
