    Default got bush!

well, I bought a complete set of bushes for the VL.

this was because Pedders suspension told me they were all badly worn.

well, I've removed the lower trailing arm on one side, firstly, I can't get the old bushes out of it... and secondly, they do not seem to be worn.

neither the front, or rear trailing arm bushes look worn, I've stuck a bolt through the middle, and they dont have any play, let along any excessive play...

    hmm...

on that note, I'm ignoring anything pedders say from now on, however, I'd still like to replace all the bushes.

what is the best way to remove the bushes from the axle/diff housing?

is there a specialized tool that will easily do this? the hammer doesn't seem to be working

    thanks!

the VL suspention has neva been that great to begin with but replacing the bushes , Z bars , swaybars , springs , shocks and panhard bar should make a big difference to . The easyest way of removing the old bushes would be to have them pressed out or use a oxy and melt them out it'd be better to have them pressed out in my opinion

the bushes are part of the axle, I mean, you know what I mean!

is there a specialized tool for removing these bushes? or is there a method people have sucessfully used?

well, I gave up, will look at it again next weekend.

however, I did replace a few easy bushes in the rear, and I just want to let people know, that pedders wanted to replace the panhard rod bushes, $30 for the set, when the ones that were in there were nolathane bushes, and still in good condition.

they also wanted to replace the rear swaybar link bushes, $47 worth, when the ones in there were still perfectly fine, maybe a little squished, but not cracking, nor perished. (I can take a pic of the bushes if people want to form their own opinions)

I'm wondering what other bushes don't need replacing...

oh, they also decided the rear shocks were soft, just by driving it, and that the rear springs were sagged, when I had about 100kgs worth of tools, speakers, and other gear in the rear...

    hmm

seems like a lot people have had bad experiences with pedder's..as for your bushes i have replaced every bush in my el except for the ones in the diff..they best way is to get em pressed out..another bush which is a bit of a pain is the front radius arm one..use the radius arm .put it in the bush and u can lever it out
the germans designed it, the aussies built it, the japs got it moving and the wogs got it dosing...

i was considering doing everything else myself, and rocking up at pedders with the whole rear axle, and asking them to remove the bushes, and replace them with the Nolethane ones haha

I have a 12 ton press, but its not practical removing the whole diff just to remove 2 bushes!!!

i think a 12ton press may snap the ol borg warner in half!!!

its a bout 120 for pedders to press em out..i'll get mine done wen the cars back from the panel beaters..they can do it with the diff in tho..so no need to take out the whole thing
