is it worth fixing to some extent?
there is rust along the bottom edge of the rear window, its rusted right through in a few small spots, so some water gets into the tail gate, and drains out the bottom, however, you can't get to the rust from inside the car, as the bottom window ledge is there (I think)
so, how could/should I fix it? not too worried about how it looks, I was just going to rust convert it, and silicon it from the inside, but you can't get silicon in there!
thanks!
that didn't get many responses
haha
I'm considering removing the window, and fixing it properly.
best way is to just do it properly, cut it out. longer you leave it the worse it will become
silcone will cause rust in metal so doing this as a quick fix will only make bigger problems later,
if its fine and you aint botherd about it draining out the bottom just leave it till you can afford or are able to do it properly
after cutting my rust out, that big area was caused by silicone trying to seal a leak
rust free now

neutral cure silicon won't cause it to rust.
and if you applied rust converter first, it should also stop the "normal" silicon from making it rust too.
the thing is... holden, in their infinite stupidity, made it so if water gets into the tail gate, it drains INTO the car! the drainage holes are on the inside of the tail gate, with little channels in the tail gate to direct water into them, and into the cabin of the car!
I know the holden "engineers" aren't too bright, but that just takes the cake!
