I have a VP Wagon V6 Non IRS. Im wrecking a VL commodore with new peders suspention with lowered springs. Would the VL suspention fit the VP Wagon.
I'm only going by what i've been told and thats that basicly every thing is the same but if ur VL is a sedan then the rear shocks won't fit due to fact that the wagons have different mounting points compaired to the sedan and i'm not sure about the rear sway bars either ? someone else might be able to comfirm this maybe ?
the later models I think, were built on the VL floorpan, even though they were an inch and a half wider
The advice given in the first response is pretty right. Tne suspension in the VN and VP was basically a carry over from the VB-VL. It's amazing how many parts will interchange. The rear shocks have different mounting systems to the sedans, and are a different length, so they are no use, but the springs, control arms, panhard rod and sway bar will interchange.
The front suspension is virtually identical to the earlier models and I think the whole lot will swap over. If I remember correctly, the top mounting for the struts might be slightly different - on the earlier models, the strut top nut sits above the mounting, and it's recessed on the VN-VP. Remember that the VB-VL's were lighter than the later models and spring rates could be a bit soft under the heavier bodies. However, it you have uprated springs from Pedders, they will be firmer than stock anyway and will probably be fine.
